Letter of Resolution

Do you know the #1 reason why most New Year’s resolutions don’t pan out? Most people don’t hold themselves accountable. In fact, 95% of the people that make New Year’s resolutions, don’t even write them down. Most people think about their goals and they implement strategies to achieve those goals, but because they don’t hold themselves accountable, they give up when things get tough. That’s when they’ll offer excuses like, “I just don’t have the time right now” or “I tried, but it is just too hard – I’ll try again next year.” They’ll give up because they haven’t made a true commitment to themselves. Instead of joining the quitters, differentiate yourself from them. When you decide on a goal you want to achieve, hold yourself accountable. Write yourself a letter of resolution.

A letter of resolution is a contract you make with yourself that keeps you on the path to achieving your goal. Your letter of resolution is the tangible form of your commitment to yourself. It acts as your beacon of support against the overwhelming challenges on the path to achieving your goal. It’s the reminder that says, “I signed up for this. I knew it would be challenging when I signed up, but I will stick with it because of all the benefits coming my way.” Thus by writing your goal down on paper, you’re programing your subconscious mind to work on achieving that goal. It’s a self-fulfilling prophesy.

Before I describe the cons of the raw food diet, I must say that I am still strongly in favor of eating at least 80% raw foods for life. The Raw Food Diet Experiment is ABSOLUTELY one of the BEST things I have done for my health. I wasn’t sick before, but the physical, mental, and emotional improvements that resulted from going on the raw food diet are unbelievable. You have to try it for yourself!

Although I strongly support the raw food diet, I’m not going to talk about just the positives. I’m sharing the cons here so that you can see some of the obstacles you’ll encounter if you decide to try the raw food diet. I find it highly unusual that some people will only share the good stuff. I believe you should be positive and optimistic in life, but to ignore anything that’s not positive reeks of a lack of consciousness. That’s not how I roll, so I’ve decided to include the Raw Food Diet Cons:

After completing the Raw Food Diet Experiment, I made a list of the pros I experienced during the raw food diet. If you are still on the fence about starting your own 30 day raw food diet experiment, this list may just be the nudge you need. I’ve sent it to a few of my friends and two have decided to go raw for 30 Days. If the list is helpful to you, please let me know by making a donation. It is appreciated and will ensure that I will be able to continue doing more experiments in the future - all of which I will post for your benefit. And now, the Raw Food Diet Pros:

A few of you, who followed the Raw Food Diet Experiment, have asked me questions on how to start becoming raw foodists. Although I am no longer on the 100% raw foodist path (I’m currently at 70-80% raw foods), I have walked it and I have a few suggestions in mind. Rather then respond to each e-mail individually, I’ve decided to write an article for those of you who are eager to start the journey. Although there are numerous ways to become raw foodists, I found these ten to be the most helpful. Enjoy!

Food Enzyme Concept – The Key to a Longer & Healthier Life

This article is going to be a bit more technical than the others, so if you haven’t had biology or physiology in a while, this will be a great refresher.  It’s about enzymes and how they can help you live a longer and healthier life. Before we dive into the deep end, let’s first define what enzymes are and what they do.

Enzymes are the biomolecules responsible for catalyzing the various chemical reactions that occur throughout the body. Responsible for metabolic activities both at the chemical and biological levels, they are the body’s labor force. Enzymes help regulate metabolism, aid in digestion, help repair tissues, help fight disease, and perform thousands of little tasks that keep us living healthy and productive lives. There is just one problem. According to the Food Enzyme Concept, enzymes are in short supply.

The Food Enzyme Concept is a theory that states that we are each born with a finite amount of endogenous (meaning they are produced by the body) enzymes that are meant to last us throughout our entire lives. The length of our lives is thus determined by how fast we use up the limited enzyme supply.
